ISIS quash rumours of leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's death with new audio message
Islamic State – also referred to as ISIL and ISIS – have reportedly released the message to disprove rumours their leader was critically injured in an US-led coalition airstrike.
In the chilling 17-minute long message, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi calls for attacks in Saudi Arabia and claims his Caliphate had rapidly expanded throughout the Arab world.
Baghdadi also claims the US-led military campaign against his group in Syria and Iraq is FAILING.
In the message he says his fighters "will NEVER leave fighting, even if only one soldier remains."
Baghdadi also warns: "God has ordered us to fight.
"Oh soldiers of the Islamic State … erupt volcanoes of jihad everywhere.
"Light the earth with fire against all dictators."
Speaking about the coalition airstrikes which reportedly killed the Islamic State leader, he says: "Despite this Crusade campaign being the most fierce and severe of all, it is the greatest failure.
"We see America and its allies stumbling in fear, weakness, impotence and failure."
The audio recording – which is being spread across jihadist websites – has not yet been confirmed as authentic and could have been recorded before his alleged death.
Although reports confirm the voice in the message appeared to correspond with previous recordings released by the group.
The United States confirmed on Tuesday it could not verify whether al-Baghdadi was killed or wounded in Iraq following a US-led strike, near the city of Falluja.
The last audio recording from Baghdadi is believed to have inspired militants in Algeria to viciously behead a French national.
